Well, here we are. You, me and the keyboard. Yeah!! I figured everyone else is doing it... why not me?? Well, no that's not really the reason but I wanted to have a place to share what's been going on in my life for those of you who care to take a gander or two every now and again.
First, and foremost. I moved to Mexico in August of last year. What a journey it has been. I was lucky enough to find a job within five days of being here. I am teaching English at Cuaunahuac Language Institute. The property is beautiful and I can honestly say I feel very lucky to have found this school in such a timely manner. I have been having such a great experience teaching and meeting all kinds of people from Mexico and from around the world. I work some pretty amazing other teachers. There is a great team in place right now! I wouldn't change what I am doing for the world right now.... No more 9 to 5, no more under-appreciation, all the work I do is for the students and to see them progress, laugh and express themselves more and more in English.... Well there are no words. It's awesome!!
Teaching English has really given me an opportunity to learn a lot about this crazy language we speak (well for those of us who do speak it :p). We teach a class just for sound.s. I didn't know there are more than for 48 sounds but we only use the 26 letter alphabet.. How about that for throwing a douzy at English students. Here are the letters but when arranged this way or that way, yeah, they don't sound how their spelt!!! Woo!! But it's fun and I have learned soo much, and everyday is a learning experience.
I am living here in Cuernavaca. The city of eternal spring. The weather is almost always a perfect 26 degrees with a light breeze. The city is beautiful and there is always something to see or do or something that is going on in the zocolo/centro.
I'll be blogging about life, travels, teaching and cooking adventures here. I have had to become quite the scavenger to find all the things I want and need for cooking Vegan. It has been a challe
